The pressure now flips onto Kyle Edmund again.

She survived a little scare, but the first set goes to Victoria Azarenka.
Naomi Osaka previously held her serve to move within one game of Azarenka, but the Belarusian serves out the set to win 6-4.
This second set could prove to be quite the tasty battle as Osaka finally looks to have settled into this one.

From the seats inside court six which face Lenglen, you can see a big screen on the side on Roland Garros’s second show-court which is showing Osaka v Azarenka.
At the changeover, some fans on the opposite side clamber up and turn around to see what is going on with the world number one.
No-one cares when this match is back under way. Everyone is engrossed.

Eeeesh! You can’t beat a bit of luck every now and a again. At 30-15 a crucial and grueling rally ends with the ball clipping the tape and flopping onto Cuevas’ side, leaving the Uruguayan with no chance. Edmund holds up his hand to apologise but we know deep down he’s smiling.
Had that gone against Edmund it would have been 30-30. Instead he holds relatively comfortably.

Spanish speakers are sat all around the media seats on court six – including former world number 12 Feliciano Lopez.
Lopez, looking dapper in his checked trousers civvies, is Cuevas’s doubles partner.
“Que bien!” the bespectacled Lopez utters as his mate wallops a winner.
Roughly translated, using my GCSE Spanish, into colloquial English as ‘wow, that’s mint’.
