It might just have brushed his hip as umpire Illingworth didn’t signal a wide. It was a tactical appeal.

  • Afg 19-2

Hashmatullah Shahidi has an awful woft at the opening delivery of Mitchell Starc’s third over.

Not sure that’s the most advisable stroke in the circumstances.

Australia debate a review off the fourth delivery as Rahmat Shah tries to guide one fine. Replays show it flicked his hip though so wise decision from Finch and co to get their review in the shed.

A streaky drive for one ends the over.

Pat Cummins looks in good rhythm. Good pace, good line. A proper fast bowler.

    Streaky. Very streaky.

Good line and length from Pat Cummins has Rahmat Shah prodding at one outside off stump and he only succeeds in getting a thick inside edge which flies past the stumps and down to the boundary.

  • Afg 13-2

Obviously as he says that a well-directed bouncer raps Rahmat Shah on the gloves.

Michael Clarke on Sky thinks the pitch is actually playing quite slowly.
