Temperatures here in Madrid are scorchingly hot and these will be taxing conditions for Liverpool and Tottenham tonight.
Liverpool’s superb Premier League campaign and the experience of playing in last season’s Champions League final makes them favourites but Spurs may feel they are being fuelled by a sense of destiny after the way they just got out of their group then reached the final with Lucas Moura’s last gasp goal against Ajax in Amsterdam.
One disturbing development to report – as if the half-and-half scarf was not bad enough we now have the half-and-half kit. Seriously?

Reyes also played for Atletico Madrid – whose stadium the final is being held tonight – and Uefa has confirmed that a moment’s silence will be observed before kick-off.
