    The defending champion has been too consistent, too solid for the occasional glimpses for magic from Lesia Tsurenko to have any impression.

    Lesia Tsurenko cannot adjust quickly enough to a thick net cord, rushing her response into the net to slip 15-30 down.


    Here come two break points for Simona Halep.


    First serve missed by Tsurenko.


    Halep on top in the resulting rally.


    And that is a clean kill. A vicious forehand down the line from Halep that Tsurenko does not even bother getting out the blocks for.


    Tsurenko is yet to hold serve.
