
Nigerians voted, with minor glitches, on Saturday for presidential and National Assembly positions in the 36 states of the country.
The country’s electoral body, INEC has announced that the announcement of results will commerce 11 am on Monday.
Sporadic violence were reported in some parts of the country mostly
in the South South, South West and North central regions. Figures of
death casualties stand at 20 with 15 being shot dead by the military in
the riverine community of Abonnema in Rivers state.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) earlier accused the ruling All Progressive Congress of planning to rig the elections.
The APC has also accused the PDP of planning to procure a court
injunction to stop INEC from announcing the result of the elections
tomorrow.
