Both Remain and Leave supporters were seen celebrating after a majority of MPs voted against May’s Brexit plan on Tuesday night.
Brexiteers in yellow vests waved cards reading “Leave Means Leave,” while Remainers were dressed in blue waving EU flags.
Protesters had waited on College Green and Parliament Square for the
result. They burst into cheers when the outcome was announced.
MPs voted 432 to 202 against May’s Brexit deal, making it the biggest
parliamentary defeat for a government in modern British history.
According to Daily Express, some groups of Leave and Remain members
were seen coming together despite their difference of opinion on Brexit.
