Tension In Aso Rock As World Leaders Seek Answers To Buhari-Jubril Scandal

Tension In Aso Rock As World Leaders Seek Answers To Buhari-Jubril Scandal

information reaching Newspadi’s desk has it that World leaders has began to seek answers to the former president Olusegun Obasanjo, over alleged impostor in Aso rock.

This was revealed by the former president in Adamawa, during the Turbaning of former Vice President, Atiku Abubarkar as Waziri.

Speaking at the event, the ex-president advised Muhammadu Buhari to do the needful and stop giving credence to the fact that he is a body double ruling the country.

His word: “No matter how long we choose to feign ignorance, the news of a stranger running the affairs of Nigeria has gained international attention.”

“I have in the past few weeks received calls from different world leaders and some concerned global investors who sought for my response over this issue which is currently being talked about in almost every home in the country.”

“Fake news is real, but this story, whether false or true can only be put to rest by the accused who happens to be President Muhammadu Buhari. In 2010, many of you, I believe, still remember how it was rumored that I was shot dead by assassins. The news understandably went viral immediately, and on learning about it, I came out and said I was alive and well.” Obasanjo said.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu first raised alarm of a body double in AsoRock and the matter has generated lots of reactions from within and outside Nigeria.

"I Don’t Hate Christians Because I’m A Descendant Of Abraham"– Buhari Reveals

"I Don’t Hate Christians Because I’m A Descendant Of Abraham"– Buhari Reveals

President Muhammad Buhari has revealed that he is a descendant of Abraham and doesn’t hate Christians like people perceive him.

Buhari made this known in a new article published on Churchtimes, a UK based online christian platform.

He advised Nigerians not to allow politicians use religion as a tool to divide the country.

Read his article below

”IN 1844, the Revd Samuel Ajayi Crowther returned home to Yorubaland (now part of modern-day Nigeria). Twenty years earlier, he had been kidnapped and sold to European slave traders who were bound for the Americas. He was freed by an abolitionist naval patrol, and received by the Church Missionary Society.

There, hebfound his calling.

Crowther made his voyage home to establish the first Anglican mission in Yorubaland. He came with the first Bibles translated into Yoruba and Hausa languages. He opened dialogue and discussion with those of other faiths. And his mission was a success: Crowther later became the first African Anglican bishop in Africa.

Today, Nigeria has the largest Christian population on the continent. The messages and teachings of Christianity are part of the fabric of each person’s life.

ALONG with the millions of Christians in Nigeria today, I believe in peace, tolerance, and reconciliation; in the institution of the family, the sanctity of marriage, and the honour of fidelity; in hope, compassion, and divine revelation.

Like Bishop Crowther, I am a descendant of Abraham; unlike him, I am a Muslim. I believe our two great religions can not only peacefully coexist but also flourish together. But Muslims and Christians must first turn to one another in compassion.

For, as it says in Amos 3.3: “Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?”

As they are People of the Book, I believe that there is far more that unites Muslims and Christians than divides them. In fact, I believe that the messages of the Bible are universal: available for anyone to exercise, and instructive to all.

We must resist the temptation to retreat into our communities, because, if we do, we can only look inwards. It is only when we mix that we can reach new and greater possibilities.

Whichever religion or religious denomination they choose to follow, Nigerians are devout. Anything that Nigerians believe will place impositions on their practice, and belief is therefore sure to cause widespread alarm.

And, unfortunately, there are those who seek to divide Nigerians — and our two great religions — and to do so for their own advantage.

I stand accused — paradoxically — of trying to Islamise Nigeria while also being accused by Boko Haram terrorists of being against Islam. My Vice-President is a devout man, a Christian pastor. He, too, is accused of selling out his religion, because of his support for me.

This is not the first time that I — nor, indeed, my Christian-Muslim evenly split cabinet — have been the subject of such nonsense. Fortunately, the facts speak differently from the words of those who seek to divide us from one another.

Since my administration has been in power, Boko Haram has been significantly and fatally degraded; I have befriended church leaders and church groups both within and outside our country; my Vice-President has addressed and opened dialogue

with Muslims up and down our land.

In all things, we seek that which all well-meaning Christians and well-meaning Muslims must seek: to unite, respect, and never to divide. Does it not say “There is no compulsion in religion” (Qur’an 2.256)? Does it not say “Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us” (Luke 9.50)? This, surely, is the path that followers

of both our two great religions must walk.

UNFORTUNATELY, those who wish us all to walk apart have recently found another focus for their efforts: the tragic clashes between nomadic herdsmen and settled farmers in the central regions of Nigeria.

For generations, herders have driven their cattle from the north to the centre of our country; they tend to be predominantly Muslim, although not exclusively. The farmers, in certain areas of central Nigeria, are predominantly Christian.

The causes of this conflict are not religious or theological, but temporal. At the heart of this discord is access to rural land, exacerbated both by climate change and population growth.

Sadly, there are some who seek to play fast and loose and so make others believe that these are not the facts. When religion is claimed as the cause — and by those who know that it is not — it only makes finding a resolution more difficult.

The government has taken action to mediate, to bring the two groups together in peace and unity. But we also need all parties to follow the teachings of the scriptures, and encourage reconciliation rather than cause division. As it is said:

“Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear?” (Mark 8.18).

As our constitution codifies, politicising religion has no place in Nigeria; for it makes us turn away from one another; it makes us retreat into our communities and walk different paths.

I believe that there is a better way. To those who seek to divide, I still hold my hand out in brotherhood and forgiveness. I ask only that they stop, and instead encourage us to turn towards one another in love and compassion. Nigeria belongs to all of us. This is what I believe.

Police To Arrest Social Media Users, Bloggers Who Spread Fake News

Police To Arrest Social Media Users, Bloggers Who Spread Fake News

The Police Command in Cross River has warned social media users and bloggers operating in the state to desist from using `online’ to spread fake news.

The command gave the warning in a statement by its Spokesperson, Mrs Irene Ugbo, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, on Friday in Calabar

Ugbo said that some bloggers and social media users were in the habit of posting fake news in their blogs and websites to propagate cheap blackmail by inciting the public against government institutions.

She said that the command, in collaboration with the leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state would not hesitate to deal decisively with any individual or group peddling fake news.

According to her, some of the bloggers who have joined the media profession without requisite training and journalism background were frustrating the cordial working relationship of NUJ and the Police in the state.

Ugbo said that some unscrupulous social media bloggers were trying to frustrate the media’s effort and reputation gained in championing the enthronement of democracy and respect for human rights in the country.

“They are in a habit of posting fake and unconfirmed stories in their respective websites and social media platforms, aimed at cheap blackmail and spread of rumour to incite the public against government institutions.

“In the same vein, the command wants to categorically state that the fake news making rounds on social media that three babies were stolen at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital is not true.

“The story is a blatant lie and calculated attempt to undermine or tarnish the hospital’s reputation, thereby causing security breach in the state and the hospital,’’ she stated.

Biafra Is A Child Whose Mother Couldn"t Abort

Biafra Is A Child Whose Mother Couldn"t Abort

The conception and delivery of Biafra to the mother earth is divinely orchestrated to fulfill purpose. By will, belief, faith, ordinance and prophecy, Biafra was conceived.

The woman bearing this foetus in her womb, had severally taken abortion pills to get rid of the baby but all to no avail. Godly prophecy can never ever be truncated under the sun no matter the plots and obstacles lined to hinder it.

Like a baby that has strengthened it’s habitation in the womb, breathing healthily abundantly for survival, Biafra defiantly resisted the damaging effects of the pills taken by the mother and lived on. The more the mother persisted in her pills intake to get rid of it, the more the baby (Biafra) healthily developed. Instead of weakening and destroying the baby, the pills strengthened and gave it life. The poisonous potency of the pills, served as nutritious elements for the baby’s development and growth. Despite the damning resistance of the mother, the baby stubbornly grew.

Biafra is irrevocably a child of providential inheritance which is anchored on ChukwuOkike (God Almighty) and Him alone, otherwise the intent of the enemies would have prevailed.

Biafra is like the foetus which successfully resisted death despite the applied potentiality of flushing devices engineered from the western world. Theese devices (machineries) tried to abort the destiny child and the desperation of the mother, successfully strengthened it’s abode in the womb. “I have come to stay”, Biafra pointedly told the doctor on the day of evacuation from the womb. “I am a child of prophecy and terminating me is like terminating the word of God. So save your energy”, baby Biafra lamented.

There is neither any witch doctor or mortal being that can abort Biafra.

No, never!

Freedom to all men is it!!

The freedom of Biafrans is essentially unstoppable!!!

Yahoo ritualists narrate how they killed DELSU first-class student

Yahoo ritualists narrate how they killed DELSU first-class student

She approached them that she was looking for a house and they exploited her

A few weeks ago, Pulse reported the death of Elozino Joshualia Ogege, a 300 Level First Class student of Mass Communication at Delta State University, after she was missing for two days. It was one of the many bad news emanating from DELSU over the past few weeks.

When her body was found, her tongue and breasts were missing. Upon a search, it was revealed that two yahoo boys and a security guard had been arrested as suspects to her death. Today, the suspects, chief of whom is Onos, a security guard have confessed to killing Ogege in graphic details.

“So when Elozino approached me that she was looking for accommodation, I saw it as a good opportunity. I contacted Desmond who told me to tell her to come back the next day. So the next day, they brought a Toyota Corolla car; and when Elozino came, they used something on her face which made her unconscious.

“We took her to a bush where we first plucked out one of her eyes while she was still alive. She was even crying and begging us to forgive her and let her go, but we plucked the other eye, removed her breast and heart before she died.”

Onos also implicated one Uche Nwaosisi, his supervisor whom he revealed posted him to DELSU to carry out ritual killings like this. While Onos claims this is the fifth killing they have jointly perpetrated, he insisted that Ogege was the first killing around DELSU and Abraka. The first four victims were abducted at Oghara, Delta State, according to Onos.

Nwaosisi, employed by a security company attached to the DELSU, denied all the allegations.

Onos adds, “Each time we kill, we remove the vital organs and take to the herbalist, Robinson, who usually would ask us to come back. Robinson used to burn the heart and pound it to make powder substance out of it. It is the powder that he gives us, which we apply before speaking to our victims to make money from them. Any big woman we approach obliges us and provides money for us.”

Reports claim that the second Yahoo boy slumped and died as the Police . Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, revealed the suspects will soon be arraigned in court.

IPOB LEADERSHIP AND MEMBERS MUST CONTINUE BECAUSE QUESTIONS HAVE STARTED COMING OUT

IPOB LEADERSHIP AND MEMBERS MUST CONTINUE BECAUSE QUESTIONS HAVE STARTED COMING OUT

The Federal Government has finally reacted to claims circulating online that President Muhammadu Buhari was cloned.

It described such claims as “idiotic”, “stupid” and “silly”, saying those peddling the rumours did not deserve the government’s reaction.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, gave the reaction in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

His response followed questions that the Federal Government should clear the air on the allegation.

The rumours largely grew from a claim by Nnamdi Kanu, fugitive leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), that the President Buhari died after his severe illness and was cloned into a certain Jibrin from Sudan.

Dismissing the claim, Mohammed said, “It is idiotic to say the President is cloned. I don’t see any serious government responding to that.

“So, the same Jibrin that was cloned from Sudan or Chad is in Chad now? Isn’t that stupid?

“They even said he is from Chad. Yet, the same President is in Chad as we speak. The same Jibrin is remembering what the President did while in Petroleum Trust Fund and he is also remembering what he did when he was head of state between 1983 and 1985.

“All the ministers do not know who is before them when they attend the Federal Executive Council meeting? The President remembers memos he had seen or heard about in 1985 and we say he is cloned.

“So, Jibril from Chad or Sudan will now remember all of these? It is too silly for the government to respond to this. It must be ignored.”

US Visa: Leave Me Alone And Focus On ‘Jubril From Sudan’ — Atiku Fires Back At Presidency

US Visa: Leave Me Alone And Focus On ‘Jubril From Sudan’ — Atiku Fires Back At Presidency

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar has urged the presidency and the Federal Government to leave him alone and focus their attention on addressing the concerns over the identity of the occupant of the Presidential villa.

Atiku who spoke through Segun Sowunmi, spokesman of his campaign organisation said the nations of the world are at liberty to give or refuse visas to anyone they deem fit and do not need the federal government’s opinion on the issue.

“The countries of the world are free and are at liberty to give visa or not to whoever they choose. We are advising them that they should go and concern themselves with the allegations of duplicity and multiple personality sitting in Aso Villa” Sowunmi said.

This is coming a day after The Federal Government through the Minister of Information and Culture told the U.S. to be cautious in granting visa to Atiku in order not to create the impression of endorsing him for the 2019 election

Meanwhile, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu first raised alarm of a body double impersonating Nigeria’s President in Aso Rock and the matter has since generated concerns among Nigerians.

"You Can not Intimidate Me, We must Continue Security Outfit Training, Nothing will stop it" - Wike Dares Nigerian Army

"You Can not Intimidate Me, We must Continue Security Outfit Training, Nothing will stop it" - Wike Dares Nigerian Army

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has declared that the State Government will continue with the training of recruits in the Neighbourhood Watch.

He added that the state will not be deterred by the actions of the Nigerian Army.

He said the Nigerian Army had been transformed into a political weapon that had abandoned her security responsibilities.

He stated that the disruption of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency Training programme by the Nigerian Army was the worst act of irresponsibility, aimed at instigating insecurity In the State.

The Governor said this at Odiokwu, Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State where he flagged off some projects.

He alleged that Zamfara and Kogi States have vigilante outfits which were commissioned by the Nigerian Army and the APC Federal Government and wondered why the Nigerian Army would disrupt a legal training exercise.

Governor Wike said that the State Government worked with the Police, the DSS and other Federal Agencies to ensure that only law-abiding citizens were recruited by the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency.

“The Army is not concerned about the killing of soldiers in Borno. They are only interested in creating insecurity in Rivers State.

“If you don’t want Rivers State to be safe, then Nigeria will not be safe. They want to use their guns against us.

“Zamfara and Kogi States have vigilante groups. They commissioned them and the Chief of Army Staff did nothing. The House of Assembly passed a law approving the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency. The Chief of Army did not challenge the law in court, but today he sent troops to invade the training camp.

“All they are doing is to intimidate people for political reasons. When you fight a state blessed by God, you will crumble. Nobody can intimidate us in Rivers State.

“We did not hire boys for political reasons. This has been a transparent process and that is why the personnel are trained at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Nonwa.

“We involved the Police and the DSS to ensure that the trainees are profiled for the good of the society. The main aim of this agency assist the security agencies with intelligence and information, since there is a lacuna in this regard.

“No one man has been a Chief of Army Staff forever. Every job has an expiry date. When Buratai leaves office, he will be held to account for his illegal actions.

“If they stop the training elsewhere, personnel of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency will be trained at the Government House Port Harcourt”, the governor said.

Shehu of Borno cries to Buhari “We’re still under Boko Haram siege”

Shehu of Borno cries to Buhari “We’re still under Boko Haram siege”

Abubakar Elkanemi, shehu of Borno, says the people of the state are still under Boko Haram seige.

Elkanemi said this when President Muhammadu Buhari paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Shehuri, Maiduguri, on Thursday.

The monarch dismissed claims by security operatives that the ongoing military operations, particularly in some parts of the state and the Lake Chad region, was yielding positive result.

He said nobody dares move 10 kilometres out of the state without being attacked, adding that farmers are being killed and kidnapped on a daily basis.

While applauding Buhari, the monarch said there is much to be done for the people of the state to be free from the insurgents attacks.

“On behalf of the traditional institution in Borno, I want to commend your excellency for the commitment you have given towards ending the lingering crisis of Boko Haram,” he said.

“It is unfortunate that despite all efforts put in place to restore peace in our land and the north-east, we the people of Borno state are still under Boko Haram siege.

“Nobody can dare move out of Maiduguri by 10 kilometres without being confronted, attacked by Boko Haram.

“Quite a number of farmers are being killed and kidnapped on a daily basis around Molai General Area, which is just 10 kilometres away from the metropolis, along Maiduguri -Damboa -Biu road.

“Most of the surrounding villages and communities in Konduga, Damboa, Mafa and other local government areas have been razed down in the last two weeks.

“We plead that the federal government and the security agencies review the strategies in nipping this lingering crisis in the bud.”

The north-east has been under series of attack by the insurgents, the latest being the attack on the 157 task force battalion in Metele, Borno.

Over 100 soldiers were reportedly killed in the attack but the army said it lost 39 men.

We Court Fixes Feb 25 For Actualisation Of Biafra’s Sovereignty

We Court Fixes Feb 25 For Actualisation Of Biafra’s Sovereignty

Justice Babatunde Quadri of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday adjourned a suit seeking the actualisation of the sovereign state of Biafra to Feb 25, 2019 for hearing.

The suit marked FHC/OW/CS/192/2013 commenced in the Owerri division of the court before it was transferred to Abuja at the instance of the Federal Government.

The self-determination suit was filed by the Incorporated Trustees of Bilie Human Rights Initiative, representing the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), against the Federal Government of Nigeria and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).

Specifically, the plaintiff wants to actualise the sovereign state of Biafra through legal means.

In its counter affidavit to the preliminary objection filed by the Federal Government, the plaintiff argued that Nigeria would lose nothing if it allowed the breakaway of Biafra.

He said: “If Biafra is carved out of the present Nigeria today as a sovereign and independent nation, Nigeria has nothing to lose, as Nigeria will still remain great and giant of Africa with abundant peace, progress, unity, strong economy, political, religious and cultural harmony that shall be without comparison within the African sub-region and beyond.”

Dr. Innocent Amadi, President of Billie Human Rights Initiative, who deposed to the 13-paragraph counter affidavit, averred that, “In order to terminate the present suit by all means, the Federal Government took undue advantage of the rift with Nnamdi Kanu’s faction of IPOB in filing an ex-parte application at the Federal High Court, Abuja, presided over by the then Acting Chief Judge, Justice Abdul Kafarati, to hurriedly secure an ex-parte order to kill permanently our struggle for self-determination and our genuine and lawful efforts to actualise the sovereign state of Biafra through legal means.”

At Thursday’s sitting, the applicant prayed the court to transfer the case back to the Federal High Court, Owerri, and adjourn sine-die (indefinitely) until the sister suit No: FHC/CS/124/2017, which was filed first by applicants/respondents challenging the proscription order of IPOB as a terrorist organisation, is heard.

While the applicant was represented by Ohaeto Uwazie, who held the brief of Dr. Francis Dike (SAN), the Federal Government was represented at the proceedings by Mrs. B.O. Akinseye-George, who stood in for Prof. Yemi Akinseye-George (SAN).

The Federal Government had, in its preliminary objection, asked the court to dismiss the suit for being incompetent, illegal, and incurably bad by virtue of the order made on September 20, 2017, by Justice Abdul Kafarati which proscribed IPOB as a terrorist organisation.

Berlin vows to finally crack down on Arab criminal gangs

Berlin vows to finally crack down on Arab criminal gangs

Seized by fears of being labeled xenophobic, Berlin officials have allowed a parallel world to emerge in Germany’s capital – one inhabited by criminal gangs of Middle Eastern origin. But is it too late for a crackdown?

After years of inaction, Berlin law enforcement authorities are finally taking the growing issue of migrant gangs seriously. The city’s government on Monday announced a crackdown on migrant criminal gangs, unveiling a five-point plan which they said would help tackle the issue. Their new crime fighting strategy includes enhanced cooperation between police and the prosecutor’s office, as well as social welfare and youth services. Together they hope to crowdsource information-gathering on gang activities.

Other measures will involve harsher punishments for minor violations committed by gang members and a system of youth crime prevention, which is designed to help young gang members avoid becoming career criminals.

The exact number of the gangs or of their membership is apparently unclear. However, around a dozen such groups are known to German police. A report by the Tagesspiegel daily claims that there are several “Arab clans” that, together, comprise some 200 members. However, there may in fact be more, as members are usually extremely tight-lipped about their criminal ties.

Commonly known as the “Arab clans,” these criminal groups in fact come from various backgrounds but are all of Middle Eastern origin. The list of gangs known to police includes Palestinian gangs as well as groups consisting of Turkish Kurds and refugees that fled the Lebanese Civil War, Germany’s Focus magazine

The gangs are also reported to maintain ties with their countries of origin. Its members, who are often already third generation migrants, still identify themselves not as Germans but as Arabs, the daily added.

Over the decades, the gangs have created a parallel world in the German capital as they built their vast criminal networks consisting of numerous shady businesses financed through ill-gotten gains. Some criminal groups have been active in Berlin for almost half a century, as their first members arrived in Germany in the 1970s.

In July, Berlin police discovered and confiscated as many as 77 real estate assets belonging to just one such family, which were all bought with criminal money. The confiscated properties were worth a combined €9.3 million ($10.5 million).

The gangs are usually involved in the drug trade as well as robberies. Several such groups were behind a number of recent high-profile cases that made headlines in Germany and beyond.

In December 2014, five members of a criminal gang broke into two jewellery stores in a shopping center located in Western Berlin not far from the Berlin Zoo and the famous Tiergarten Park. Armed with axes and machetes, the masked robbers stormed the facilities in broad daylight, pepper-spraying shoppers and injuring 13 people. They managed to steal Rolex watches and jewelry worth €817,000 ($923,050) before fleeing the scene.

Although the raiders were later caught, the police still failed to find the valuables they stole, German media reported. In March 2017, another ethnic gang stole an extremely rare commemorative coin in a daring, middle-of-the-night heist that targeted the world-famous, UNESCO-listed Bode Museum in Berlin.

The coin they stole was known as the ‘Big Maple Leaf’ and was issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2007. The coin is reportedly worth €920,000 (around $1 million) in its current form. The 100kg of gold, however, would sell for roughly €3.7 million ($4.2 million) at current market value. The coin has not been found yet, with the police believing that the culprits might have actually melted it down.

More recently, German police report a spike in gang violence, as rival ‘families’ have been launching attacks against each other for weeks. In one such attack, a notorious gang member and repeat offender was shot down near the now-defunct Berlin Tempelhof Airport. Police then had to guard his funeral in order to prevent any further violence. Notably, the ceremony was attended by some 2,000 people, according to local media reports.

One of the hurdles facing German law enforcement is the risk of being labeled as xenophobic for going after migrant groups – even if they’re criminals.

An association of Berlin criminal defense lawyers has even questioned the notion that “clan crime” exists, arguing that the term is too vague.

Hannes Honecker, the head of the association, said that speaking about “clan crime” is taking a page from right-wing populists like Alternative for Germany (AfD), a right-wing political party that is gaining traction in Germany. He added that such “depreciative” rhetoric conjures the picture of “large homogenous … criminal families, which do not exist.”

Meanwhile, according to Focus, the German police have long preferred not to systematically target the ethnic gangs, treating their crimes as isolated cases instead, precisely out of fear of being labeled xenophobic.

But as the criminal gangs continue to consolidate their presence in Berlin, Germany may have to put aside political correctness and opt instead for safer streets

"I will Expose More things, Declare Nigeria A Nation at War now" - Okorocha Urgues FG

"I will Expose More things, Declare Nigeria A Nation at War now" - Okorocha Urgues FG

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha said with the recent killings of many soldiers by the insurgents in Borno State, Nigeria must declare itself a nation at war.

Okorocha spoke yesterday when officers from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Owerri.

The governor said: “A nation has to be in a serious war to lose 10 soldiers, not to talk about 40 soldiers. So Nigeria must declare itself as a nation at war.

“What I think is happening in the North-East is what was happening here in Imo State when I came in 2011. Owerri was notorious for kidnapping and we were number one State for kidnapping when I came in to the extent that by 5.30 or 6pm everybody had gone home for fear of being kidnapped. But we tackled it and overcame.”

He condoled with the families of the slain soldiers.

Expose Buhari Again and See What we"ll Do, I don"t tolerate Nonsense - Lai Muhammed Threatens Nnamdi Kanu

It’s Idiotic And Sheer Bunkum To Claim Buhari Was ‘Cloned’ — Lai Mohammed Hits Back At Nnamdi Kanu

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has reacted to insinuation by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu that President Muhammadu Buhari was cloned in London.

Speaking during a media briefing in his office in Abuja, on Thursday, Mohammed said the idea was “not only absolute idiotic but also sheer bunkum.”

The Minister said the insinuation “does not require any response from any responsible government or its agencies.”

On the arrest and prosecution of a human rights activist, Deji Adejanju, Mohammed said that being an activists or an opposition member does not confer any immunity on anyone who flouts the laws.

“What Nigerians must and should know is that the law is always there to guide their conducts. So, it does not matter whether you are in government or opposition if you flout the law,” he said.

Nigerians will elect Atiku as President not Americans--Timi Frank to Lai

Nigerians will elect Atiku as President not Americans--Timi Frank to Lai

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has said that Nigerian will joyfully elect the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the forthcoming elections and not Americans.

Frank made the assertion on Friday in Abuja, in a statement in response to comments credited to the Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, that the US should not grant the former Vice President visa to visit the country.

He, however, reminded the Minister, that the American government does not believe in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari which has since been described as “lifeless” by President Donald Trump. According to Frank, the PDP presidential candidate has become a nightmare and a sleepless tablet for the government of APC, hence the total loss of common senses by some of it officials. Frank warned his former boss, Lai Mohammed and other APC’s apologists against heart attack when they later see Atiku Abubakar, being received on a red carpet very soon in the United States of America.

While challenging APC government to provide just one evidence of corruption perpetrated by Atiku Abubakar, Frank said the same failed government that said the Waziri Adamawa could not visit America is already jittery now that Atiku is poised to prove them wrong. According to Frank, it was easier for Lai Mohammed to bring APC to power with lies and propaganda against President Goodluck Jonathan but it is now impossible to sustain the lies because of their obvious failures. “Why is Lai Mohammed speaking from both sides of the mouth? The Minister is about to lose his job that’s why he is talking like someone under the influence of codein or tramadol.

The simple advice for Mr. Mohammed’s close allies is to get him tested for probably the negative effects of banned substances. “At this stage, it is too late to stop America from granting Atiku entry Visa because the country has confirmed that it has nothing against the Presidential candidate of the PDP. “Instead of this clueless government to seek for help from the American government in fighting the resurgent Boko Haram and fully liberate the people of the North-east from the hands of insurgents, what is more important to Lai Mohammad and the APC’s government is the issuance of U.S. Visa to Atiku.

“The American government will not fall for propaganda from a lifeless government like that of APC and President Muhammadu Buhari in granting Visa to anybody because it is a place where rule of law is strictly adhered to. “Unlike a lawless APC government that attempts to disallow rain from dropping on the roof tops of political opponents, the America government is built on trust, fairness, justice and the fear of God,” Frank replied Mohammed.

How Trump was finally tripped by sabotage of every meeting with Putin

How Trump was finally tripped by sabotage of every meeting with Putin

US President Donald Trump has canceled a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit, citing an incident with Ukraine, the latest in a series of attempts to block all talks between Moscow and Washington.

After consulting with his hawkish national security adviser John Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Trump backed out of the scheduled meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Argentina. It was the first known instance of the US president bowing to those seeking to stop him from talks with Putin – but not the first time they tried.

On the eve of the Trump-Putin summit in Helsinki, Finland in July, special counsel Robert Mueller indicted twelve Russian nationals on charges of hacking the Democrats during the 2016 US presidential election. Mueller is investigating Hillary Clinton’s claim that Trump “colluded” with Russia to steal an election that was rightfully hers.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to the indictment by saying it seemed calculated to spoil the meeting. Moscow wasn’t alone in coming to that conclusion: The top Democrat in the US Senate, Chuck Schumer, argued along the same lines, saying that “Glad-handing with Vladimir Putin on the heels of these indictments would be an insult to our democracy.”

“The timing is no accident,” John Dean, former White House counsel to President Richard Nixon, told Politico at the time. “It forces Trump to confront Putin. If he fails to do so he is admitting guilt.”

That is exactly how the US media and the political establishment framed the Helsinki summit. When Trump made no mention of ‘Russian meddling’ at the meeting, his critics in the US flew into fits of rage. Some even accused Trump of “treason.” Whatever was discussed at the summit fell by the wayside in the storm of outrage.

The severity of the reaction apparently pushed the Trump administration to postpone the follow-up meeting. At the end of July, Bolton announced that Putin’s visit to Washington, originally planned “in the fall” of 2018, would take place in early 2019, “after the Russia witch hunt is over.” This was a reference to the Mueller probe, using Trump’s favorite phrasing.

Bolton ended up going to Moscow instead. Right before his trip, in late October, Mueller dropped another indictment – this time against an accountant allegedly involved in the project that aimed to “sow discord in the US political system and to undermine faith in our democratic institutions” by posting memes on Facebook.

Trump’s supporters have argued, to no avail, that if anything is actually undermining faith in American democracy, it’s the “Russiagate” hysteria of the president’s critics. More than one Democrat has openly argued that if Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016 was the result of “Russian meddling,” that means he is not a legitimate resident of the White House. Evidence? There hasn’t been any – only innuendo, insinuations, “connecting the dots” and heaped helpings of conspiracy theories.

Yet most Republican lawmakers seem to have accepted the claim of “Russian meddling” as fact, only quibbling about its scope and impact. Last July, they joined the Democrats in usurping the White House’s foreign policy prerogatives by voting for a law sanctioning Russia in perpetuity, giving it a veto-proof majority.

Whatever the reason, the US political establishment is openly hostile to Moscow. Trump campaigned on being the outsider and draining the Washington “swamp,” only to side with it when it came to killing his idea of better relations with Russia.

Back in March, for example, he ordered a mass expulsion of Russian diplomats from the US – including the UN mission, a step without precedent at the time – on nothing more than the assertion by the UK government that Russia poisoned a former spy with a nerve agent in Salisbury. The same UK government, by the way, that appears to have been involved in spying on his campaign and sourcing the dodgy “Steele dossier” on which most Russiagate conspiracies are based.

“There has been nobody tougher on Russia than President Donald Trump,” Trump said in April. Yet in the same breath, he noted that no matter what he does it is never enough for the media, “because that is their narrative.”

Clearly, Trump is aware that nothing he ever does will dissuade the peddlers of a “collusion” narrative, yet he just handed them a major victory by canceling the G20 meeting with Putin. As he himself would put it: Sad!

Don’t Grant Atiku Visa, FG Tells U.S.

Don’t Grant Atiku Visa, FG Tells U.S.

The Federal Government has told the U.S. to be cautious in granting visa to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, in order not to create the impression of endorsing him for the 2019 election.

Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, gave the government position at an interactive session with media executives in Abuja on Thursday.

Mohammed said that the government was aware of the move by the former vice president to lobby the U.S. to lift the visa ban imposed on him.

He said while the U.S. has the prerogative of whom to issue visa, it should be mindful of the timing, in order not to give the impression that Atiku has been endorsed by the U.S. government.

“We understand and appreciate the fact that it is the prerogative of the U.S. to grant a visa to anyone who applies.

“However, we want the U.S. to be neutral and be wary of taking any decision that will give the impression that they are favouring or endorsing one candidate over the other.

“Impression must not be created that the U.S. government is endorsing one particular candidate over the other,” he said.

The minister recalled that for years, there has been a kind of congressional bi-partisan investigation on corruption against certain individuals which had made it difficult for Atiku to secure a U.S. visa.

“I am sure you will all recall the Jefferson’s case and the cold $90,000 in fridge.

“We are not unaware that Atiku has engaged the services of some lobbyists to persuade the U.S. to issue visa to him.

“Our position is that if the former vice president is seeking the U.S. visa we have no problem about it.

“However, we want the U.S. government not to create the impression that it is endorsing one candidate over the other,” he said.

Speaking on security, the minister insisted that despite the recent set back brought about by attacks on the military, the Boko Haram insurgents had been largely decimated.

He recalled that when they took over in 2015, Boko Haram was active in 10 states including the FCT where they chose where and when to attack.

The minister said that 20 of the 27 local government areas in Borno were under the insurgents where they hoisted their flags, collected taxes and deposed the Emirs.

He said since they took over no inch of Nigerian territory is under the control of the insurgents who now operated in the fringes –Lake Chad Island- to launch guerilla attacks.

“What happened was a set-back and it is not enough to say that we are losing the war against Boko Haram.

“We want to appreciate the gallant military who are sacrificing day and night and those who have lost their lives to protect Nigeria’s sovereignty,” he said.

The minister added that the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Borno and his ongoing visit to Chad were indications of renewed vigour to end the war.

Mohammed also denied the allegations that the government was closing media space against the opposition.

On the arrest of Deji Adeyanju, convener of Concerned Nigerians by the Police, the minister noted that “being an activist or in the opposition does not protect anyone from arrest and prosecution”.

He said the case had been charged to court and it would be prejudicial to make further comments on it.

Reacting, Atiku Abubakar told the presidency and the Federal Government to leave him alone and focus their attention on addressing the concerns over the identity of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking with Daily Independent, Atiku, who spoke through Segun Sowunmi, spokesman of his campaign organisation, said the nations of the world are at liberty to give or refuse visas to anyone they deem fit and do not need the Federal Government’s opinion on the issue.

“The countries of the world are free and are at liberty to give visa or not to. We are advising them that they should go and concern themselves with the allegations of duplicity and multiple personality sitting in Aso Villa. If they can resolve that, then they can come and start talking to us about any other thing”.

“Nigeria is a country that God gave to Nigerians to be ruled by Nigerians when we decide our presidency. There is no part of Nigerian conversation that says that Nigerian president must go and tour round all the countries of the world and bow down to them so that they can come back and lead us here.

“They should settle the issue of duplicity of the personality in Aso Rock first. I don’t know if his name is Jubril and I don’t know if his name is Buhari. They are hearing the allegations yet they have not done anything about it, all they keep focusing on is Atiku.

“When people said Obasanjo was dead, he came out and said ‘I dey Kampe’. When President Umaru Yar’Adua was rumoured to be dead, Obasanjo called him and placed it on loudspeaker and said ‘Umoru, Umoru are you dead?

“But now, they have been accusing them of putting a strange man in the presidency, why haven’t they come out to say ‘No, this is who we have’. They are making all sorts of stupid excuses and diverting from the issues”, he said.

JUST IN: “Jubril Of Sudan Must Go” — Atiku, PDP Say At NEC Meeting

JUST IN: “Jubril Of Sudan Must Go” — Atiku, PDP Say At NEC Meeting

The controversy surrounding the alleged ‘cloning’ of President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to abate, as the matter rared its head at the National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday.

The drama started just as Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar was called upon to address party leaders gathered for the 81st NEC meeting of the opposition party.

Just as he cleared his voice to speak, an unidentified voice from the audience said, “Jubril must go,” to which Atiku beaming with smile responded: “Which Jubril? The one in Sudan or the one in Abuja?” The capacity-filled NEC hall reeled in laughter for close to a minute.

The social media has in recent months been treated to a rumour of the existence of a Jubril, supposedly of a Sudanese origin, in the corridors of power.

However, the Presidency is yet to wade into the matter.

Prominent members who graced the meeting included governors Abdulfatai Ahmed (Kwara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi) and Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) states; Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Gators and ex-Kogi state governor, Ibrahim Idris among others.

Also, the PDP yesterday inaugurated it’s Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja with secondus as chairman while Atiku was named co-chairman.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan is the Director, Media and Publicity of the campaign Council.

Fight in Anambra Assembly as factional Speakers struggle to take seat

The struggle by factions of the Anambra State House of Assembly to take possession of the seat of the Speaker is currently causing a fight in the hallowed chambers.

Both factions of the House, led by their separate Speakers had arrived the State Assembly complex at about 10am in the morning, but could not sit for plenary because of the tussle over which of the two Speakers should preside over the meeting.

About 22 out of the 30 members of the House had three weeks ago impeached Speaker Rita Maduagwu, replacing her with Hon. Ikem Uzoezie. But Maduagwu had quickly denied being impeached, while the Uzoezie faction insisted she remained impeached.

This had led to the sealing of the House by police authorities to forestall any breach of peace.

But at about 10:30pm on Wednesday, police unsealed the complex ahead of Thursday sitting, but, both factions went inside to administer the House.

Maduagwu had first entered the hallowed chambers and sat on the Speaker’s seat, but later left when she found that only two of her supporters were present.

As about 2:30pm when she returned to preside over the House, Uzoezie had already taken the Speaker’s seat, refusing to give way for Maduagwu, causing a huge uproar in the House.

Two members, Hon Obinna Emenaka, and a pro Maduagwu lawmaker who recently suffered a vehicle accident, however, engaged a pro Uzoezie lawmaker, Romanus Obi, in a fight but members rallied round to stop the fight.

Emenaka who now uses crutches deployed them in the fight, but was quickly dispossessed of them by another Pro Uzoezie lawmaker, Onyebuchi Offor.

“You are not ashamed of yourself, you were schemed out of the party’s primary election in your area and you could not do anything,” Emenaka yelled at Obi.

Obi was, however, urged by members of his faction to keep calm and not to reply.

It was gathered that the bone of contention in the Assembly was the refusal of APGA to give tickets to most members of the House.

It was gathered that all the pro-Uzoezie members of the House are those denied ticket by APGA to either return to the House or move over to the House of Representatives.

As at the time of filling this report, all the lawmakers have refused to leave the chambers, with Uzoezie sitting tight on the Speaker’s seat, while the refusal of the clerk to make available the mace was still stalling Uzoezie’s attempt to preside over the House.

West African leaders meet to tackle Boko Haram upsurge

West African leaders meet to tackle Boko Haram upsurge

Top leaders from Chad, Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon were holding talks in N’Djamena on Thursday to discuss the recent escalation of attacks by Boko Haram jihadists in the Lake Chad area.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Niger’s Mahamadou Issoufou flew into the Chadian capital where they were holding closed-door talks with Chad’s Idriss Deby and Cameroon’s Prime Minister Philemon Yang, an AFP correspondent said.

The meeting, which began during the morning, was focused on “the security situation in Lake Chad”, a strategic area where the borders of four countries converge and where there has been a worrying “resurgence” of attacks in recent months, a Chadian diplomatic source said.

All four countries belong to the Lake Chad Basin Commission, an intergovernmental organisation which oversees the usage of water and other natural resources in the region but which has also been engaged in the fight against Boko Haram

The group began a bloody insurgency in northeastern Nigeria in 2009 that has since spread to neighbouring Cameroon, Chad and Niger, prompting a regional military response.

In 2015, Boko Haram jihadists split into two branches, one of which is affiliated to the Islamic State (IS) group.

In Nigeria alone, more than 27,000 people have been killed over the past nine years, and some 1.8 million people have been forced out of their homes by the violence.

And since July, there have been at least 17 attacks on military bases in Nigeria, almost all of them in the region around Lake Chad, according to an AFP count.

Earlier this month, IS claimed its militants had killed 118 people in five operations in Nigeria and Chad between November 15 and 21.

In the most audacious attack on November 18, IS-allied Boko Haram jihadists killed at least 43 soldiers when they overran a base in Metele village near the border with Niger, although the survivors put the number at more than 100 dead.

On Tuesday evening, jihadists raided another Nigerian military base in a village near Lake Chad, killing three soldiers. Local residents said their truck was armed with anti-aircraft guns.

Nigeria’s Buhari, who came to power in 2015 on the promise to end the violence, is under increasing pressure to act following the recent surge in attacks as he gears up to seek re-election in a February ballot.

Visiting troops in violence-hit Borno State on Wednesday, Buhari said defeating Boko Haram was “a must-win war”. He has come under attack for previously claiming the Islamists were “technically defeated”.

Since 2015, all four countries have been collaborating militarily as part of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) which seeks to counter Boko Haram in the Lake Chad region.

Michael Cohen to plead guilty to making false statements

Michael Cohen to plead guilty to making false statements

Michael Cohen, former attorney to President Trump, is expected to plead guilty to making false statements to Congress regarding Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s ‘Russiagate’ investigation, ABC News reported

Cohen is expected to enter his plea in a federal court in Manhattan on Thursday. Since pleading guilty to tax evasion and campaign finance violations in August, Cohen has been cooperating with Mueller’s ongoing Russia investigation, and gave the Special Counsel more than 70 hours of recorded testimony.

Before flipping on his old employer, Cohen once said that he would “take a bullet” for the president. Cohen said that he has information that may be of interest to Mueller in August, but the statement was downplayed by Trump.

“If somebody defrauded a bank and he’s going to get ten or twenty years in jail, but you can say something bad about Donald Trump and you’ll go down to two years or three years, which is the deal he made – in all fairness to him, most people are going to do that,” Trump said at the time.

Now, ABC’s anonymous sources claim that Cohen will admit to making multiple false statements to two Congressional intelligence committees investigating alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in the runup to the 2016 election. It is not yet clear what statements Cohen will admit were false.

Speaking ahead of the closed-door sessions in 2017, Cohen said that he “never saw anything” linking the Trump campaign to Russia in 2016. He also claimed that the Steele Dossier - compiled by an opposition research firm at the behest of the Clinton campaign and later used to kickstart the Mueller investigation - was “riddled with total falsehoods and intentionally salacious allegations.”

Political Parties To Sign Peace Accord Ahead Of 2019 -National Peace Committee

The Chairman of the National Peace Committee, General Abdulsalam Abubakar, says that all heads of political parties are to sign a peace accord ahead of the 2019 elections.

According to him, signing the agreement will help play a major role towards the success of the forthcoming elections.

Abubakar said this during a meeting with the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmoud Yakubu in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said, “We will do the best we can, in order to help sanitize the political arena.

“You members of the press also have a role and a duty to educate our people and the politicians so that once they go on campaigning they campaign on issues and there shouldn’t be any rancor.

“Tomorrow we are going to meet all the chairmen and secretaries of the registered political parties.

“The aim of the meeting with the political parties is to try to reach an understanding, where we will get them at a later date to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on how to campaign without bitterness”.

On his part, the INEC Chairman assured Nigerians of the commission’s readiness to ensure a free and fair exercise in 2019.

Eastern Jerusalem Must Be Capital of Palestine — United Nations

Eastern Jerusalem Must Be Capital of Palestine — United Nations

The commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at the United Nations began Wednesday.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres addressed the opening meeting of the three-day commemoration.

Secretary General Guterres said that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people served to “remind us of our collective and unfinished task” to create a Palestinian State.

Guterres criticized Israel for “demolitions, continued settlement construction, and evictions” and stated that eastern Jerusalem must be the capital of a Palestinian Arab state.

Palestinian Authority representative to the United Nations Riyad Mansour read a statement by PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the meeting.

Abbas noted in his statement that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is held on the anniversary of the UN vote to partition mandatory Palestine into a Jewish and Arab state.

The PA chairman called the partition vote “unfair” and stated that the decision was made “without the consent of the Palestinian people.”

Abbas accused Israel of “Apartheid,” of refusing to live up to its commitments under the Oslo accords, and of “colonialism.”

According to Abbas, the PA has fought incitement and terrorism, has fulfilled all of its obligations under the Oslo accords, and has never refused negotiations.

He called on the United Nations to end the “double standards” under which he said Israel was not required to abide by UN resolutions.

Henry Suarez, the representative of the Non-Aligned Movement from Venezuela, also spoke at the meeting and accused Israel of attempting to “change the character” of Jerusalem and called for the international community to hold Israel accountable for its alleged “violations of international law.”

The International Day of Palestinian Day with the Palestinian People was created by the UN General Assembly in 1977. The commemoration will be held from November 28-30.

[BREAKING] Buhari sacks Brig. Gen Texas Chukwu as Army spokesman

[BREAKING] Buhari sacks Brig. Gen Texas Chukwu as Army spokesman

Buhari has approved the sack of Brig.Gen Texas Chukwu as the spokesman of the Nigerian army.

A military source disclose that Chukwu’s removal followed outcry from different quarters on his “inability” to manage information on the counter-insurgency campaign.

“Chukwu was not attune with media management and did not sustain the efforts already in place,” the source said.

“A good public relations officer always responds to critical national issues on time and provides solutions. His inefficiency did not only affect the army’s efforts but made the military a subject of embarrassment in the eyes of the world.”

The source added that Sani Usman had been reinstated as spokesman of the army.

Chukwu took over the position in February when Usman enrolled for a senior executive course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos.

A senior military officer listed Chukwu’s alleged poor management of several incidents of Boko Haram as some of his flaws.

“Chukwu’s handling of the recent Boko Haram incidents did not help in managing the situation, thereby embarrassing the chief of army staff and the commander-in-chief,” he said.

When contacted, Chukwu confirmed that he had been replaced but said it was because of a course he ought to attend at the NIPSS.

“There must be progress. I’m going to NIPSS for study. You know there are some courses you would take before getting promoted to major-general. It’s true. I’m no more the army spokesman. SK Usman would take over. He just returned from course, too,” he said.

Usman also confirmed that he had returned to his former position since Monday.

He appealed for support and thanked all those who supported him during his time at NIPSS.

“I wish to on behalf of my family thank all those that called or sent congratulatory messages as I graduated from NIPSS, Kuru, bagged the highly respected Membership of the National Institute (mni) and inducted into the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) since Saturday 24th November 2018,” he said in a message sent to TheCable.

“I also like to inform you that I have also been reappointed as Director Army Public Relations with effect from Monday 26th November 2018. I look forward to your continued support and cooperation. May God continue to bless and protect you and your family.”
